CV4 set to 100 for coasting use F2 to slow loco with the brakes
F2 Brake key
When closing the throttle the loco will coast and decelerate very slowly. To slow the train
press F2 and the brakes actually work speeding up how fast the loco slows down just like a
real brake control in the cab.

F17 Auto Wagons Buffering
If the key is engaged, and the Light Engine Mode (F key 14)
is not
engaged, sounds will
operate in the following automated way:

Loco moves off/accelerates gently. The sounds are not played.

Loco moves off/accelerates more rapidly. The sound of the couplings taking up slack as the
train stretches plays. This is also the case if the loco accelerates further when already
moving.

Loco decelerates gently. The sounds are not played.

Loco decelerates more rapidly. The sound of several wagons buffering up is played each
time.

Loco comes to a halt with the Brake Key (F key 2) engaged. The sound of several wagons
buffering up is played after it comes to a halt.

Warnings
Do not leave wires connections bare if modifying wiring to fit your installation requirements.
Always use heatshrink or other insulation. Bare wires kill decoders.

Speaker wires are not polarity sensitive but please ensure that they are well insulated as
short circuits on the speaker outputs will blow the amplifier and this is not covered under
warranty as it isn’t a manufacturing defect but is considered as mishandling.

Please be sure you are confident working in your locomotives and have the necessary skills
to fit the decoders. If not, seek the services of a professional.
Troubeshooter

If decoder appears faulty at any time carry out a project reset setting CV8 to 8. This will
restore your decoder to as shipped condition. It will also reset address to 3 again, original
sounds will not be lost.
